I so miss working on this show! Forever proud of VCUFashion.

Yesterday I received the press kit for this years annual juried fashion show by VCU’s Department of Fashion Design and Merchandising. With the first time that I saw the iconic ‘H’, I was immediately impressed with the branding of this years show.

This year’s show, Heritage, will pay homage to fashion’s cavernous history and will feature designs inspired by Danish, Mayan, African, and Indian influences. The 100+ garments in the show were created by upperclass design students and chosen by a panel of fashion industry critics.

The press kit included press releases and photographs from past department events, including last year’s show entitled “TWENTYTEN.”

This is the second consecutive year that the garments will walk the runway in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. With the fashion show taking place in the main atrium, the VMFA provides an elegant setting unlike any other in the city.

The juried fashion show is one of the most anticipated fashion shows of the year. In only six hours, all 400 tickets for the show sold out. Heritage will take place Sunday May 8th.
